A typical example of linear and log–log stabilogram diffusion plots in the control and SV conditions. The diffusion plots can be modeled with a pair of regression lines that intersect at the critical point. The critical point of time (CT) and critical point of displacement (CD) denote the time-interval scale and variance scale of the critical point, respectively. The short-term and long-term regions are determined by CT, which correspond to open-loop and closed-loop control strategies for postural fluctuations, respectively. Stabilogram diffusion parameters (Ds, Dl, Hs, Hl) are determined by the slopes of lines fitted to the short-term or long-term regions
